قصيدة بالموصلي الفصيح...

كنت أزغيغ عاقل وحباب وغشيم ومسكين
I was young and sane, sweet and innocent
وكانو اصدقائي يسموني مالك الحزين
All my friend used to call me: Great egret
أستحي معغف أحكي مع النسوان
Too shy to speak to women
غيغ بس بالأحلام
Only in my dreams
الله يرحم هذيك الأيام
God bless those days
كنتو أغوح من بيتنا بالميدان الى بيت جدي أبو عمي البقال
I used to go from our house to my grandfather house
بالأسبوع مرة
Once a week
ومن أغشعتوكي بالسطوح عتنشغين الحواس
And when I saw you washing clothes
قام يغجف قلبي وكبت شعغاية جسمي
my heart stat to beat and tingle
حبيتو جدي وعمي اكثغ وحتى مغت عمي النحسي
I start to like more my grandfather and uncle
And even my uncle's moaning wife
وقمت أغوح عندم بالسبوع ألف مرة
and start to visit them a thousand time
كنت معغف اشنو الحب
I didn't know what love is
بس انتي عيونكي جذبتني
but your eyes fascinated me
وأخلاقكي وتصرفاتكي عجبتني
you morals and actions I admire
وأمكي على امحبة امي حبتني
and your mom on my mom likeness liked me
حسيتو الدني ضحكتلي
feel the life shine to me
وأبوابا فتحتلي
and open its arms to me
ذبحتو نفسي بالشغل وصمدتولي كم فلس وغحتو خطبتوكي
I worked hard to save some money
And I came and ask your hand

As as my mom and dads hearts till your dad agreed
ضلت أمكي تشتهى وتأمر وتتطلب... مغمغوني ومغمغوكي

even if she asked for treasures of king Suleiman I would get them
دنطيهم ولو بالذهب ثقلوكي

and how many people envy us and want to put us apart
